Head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidency, Fahrettin Altun, said that Ankara has become an example to the world through its realistic and humane policy regarding the migration file.
This came in a speech he delivered on Wednesday at the opening of a workshop on immigrants and the media.
Organized by the International Association for Information and Media (UMED) with the support of the Presidency of the Communication Department of the Turkish Presidency.
Altun stated that Turkey, as a force supporting stability, has struggled in the field and at the negotiating table for its security and stability, as well as the security and stability of the countries of the region alike.
He continued, “On this point, Turkey has become an example to the world through its realistic and humanitarian policy regarding immigration.”
And he added, “We need a fair approach, data-based journalism and realistic human stories, and a unified and integrated language, in the issue of migrant representation in the media.”
He stressed that his country attaches great importance to ensuring the voluntary and dignified return of the oppressed displaced to their countries.
“This is a vital component of our immigration policy,” he added.
