Sudan calls international community to prevent the Israeli violations

On Friday, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to take measures to prevent a recurrence of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the ministry called for “the international community to expedite the provision of assistance and compensation for the reconstruction of the areas affected by destruction and alleviate the humanitarian situation.”

She welcomed the entry into force of the declaration of a ceasefire between the Palestinian factions and Israel, appreciating “the sincere efforts made by our brothers in Egypt, Qatar and Jordan.”

Tensions in Gaza have escalated dramatically after Israel launched a massive military operation against the Strip on May 10, which has caused massacres and widespread destruction of buildings and infrastructure.

During the same statement, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced its support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s call to launch a political process under the umbrella of the International Quartet to accompany this step.

Negotiations have been stalled between the Palestinian and Israeli sides since April 2014, to Tel Aviv’s refusal to release old detainees, to stop settlement activity, and to accept the borders before the June 1967 war as the basis for a two-state solution.
