Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu commented at a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Ciarto in Budapest. At the request of the Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of Armenia for the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He said, “Turkey strongly condemns the attempted coup in Armenia and opposes any coup anywhere in the world.”
Cavusoglu admitted that in a democracy, it is natural for citizens to criticize the government and even demand to resign.
But it is unacceptable for the army to stage a coup or to call for an elected government.
Once again we strongly condemn this request from the Armenian army.

He also said, “There are important opportunities for stability in the region, and they should be evaluated well.”
Such actions threaten the stability of the country. That is why we are so strongly opposed to it.
We did not have any contact in this regard and we follow the events from the press. We are against coups anywhere in the world.
It is worth noting that the Chief of the General Staff and senior leaders of Armenia, Onik Gasparyan, issued a statement this morning calling for the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan.
