On Tuesday, Turkish Airlines resumed its flights to Afghanistan after a 3-year interruption.
In August 2021, the Turkish company suspended its flights to Afghanistan following the Taliban’s control of the country’s administration following the withdrawal of American forces.
Three years later, the first Turkish Airlines plane landed at Kabul International Airport.
The company is scheduled to operate 4 mutual flights weekly between Istanbul and Kabul on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
In a speech he delivered during a ceremony held on this occasion, the head of the mission and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, Cenk Ünal, said that the resumption of flights between the two countries indicates the beginning of a new phase.
He added: “Turkish Airlines is one of the airlines that provides the best services in the world.”
