Istanbul Airport breaks a record for the number of daily passengers

Istanbul International Airport set a new record for the number of passengers through it, coinciding with the approaching Eid al-Adha.

According to a statement by the “İGA” company that operates Istanbul Airport, 252,364 people traveled on Sunday through the airport on 1,593 flights.

The statement added that this number is a record on a daily basis since the opening of the airport in late 2018.

In a related context, the Turkish airport also witnessed a record breaking in the number of flights on June 11.

On the aforementioned day, the airport witnessed 1,684 flights, coinciding with the final match of the European Football Champions League, which was hosted by Istanbul.
