On Saturday evening, heavy rains began in the states of Sanliurfa and Kahramanmaraş, which were affected by the earthquake in southern Turkey, after 3 days of torrential rains and floods.

The authorities in the two states are taking extensive measures to prevent citizens from being affected in the event of a disaster similar to the one that occurred on March 15.

Citizens experienced difficulties in moving between the regions in Sanliurfa and Kahramanmaraş due to the accumulation of water on many streets and alleys.

The authorities issued warnings to the residents, amid expectations of continued rains in the two states affected by the disaster of the February 6 earthquake.

Earlier on Saturday, Turkish Vice President Fuad Oktay announced the death of 18 citizens and the loss of 3 others as a result of the torrential disaster in the south of the country.
