Mehmet Fatih Kajer, Turkish Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, announced that the domestic electric car “TOGG” will go on sale next week.

This came in a speech he delivered during his participation on Saturday in an event of the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen in Turkey “Musiad” in Istanbul.

Kajer pointed out that Turkey has today become the shining production base in its region and that it is about to make a big leap in the coming period.

He said, “Today, Turkey has become the fourth largest car manufacturer in Europe and the fourteenth in the world, and now we have a great window of opportunity.”

He added, “Turkey’s TOGG car will be put up for sale next week, God willing. TOGG will meet our people in the coming days.”

On October 29, 2022, Turkey celebrated the production of the first local car, marking the start of serial manufacturing of its electric car, “TOGG”.

Ankara owns 100 percent of the intellectual and industrial rights to the car, and seeks through it to build a global brand and form the nucleus of an integrated Turkish mobility system.

The Tug plant will produce 175,000 cars annually when it reaches full capacity and will provide 4,300 direct jobs and 20,000 indirect jobs.
