Turkey reaches a record level in the “Global Innovation Index”

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank stated that his country has reached a record level in the “Global Innovation Index”.

Varank explained in a tweet on “Twitter” Thursday that Turkey rose 14 degrees in the past two years and ranked 37th in the world out of 132 countries.

He stressed that the research, development and innovation system established by Turkey 20 years ago continues to achieve new successes.

The innovation index measures innovation performance in countries through innovation inputs and outputs based on institutions, workforce, infrastructure, market and business development, knowledge output, technology and creativity.

The Global Innovation Index ranks the innovation performance of 132 countries and economies around the world using more than 80 indicators.

This report, co-published by Cornell University and the European Institute of Business Administration, provides an annual ranking of the capabilities and performance of economies in innovation globally.
