The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that Deputy Minister Sedat Unal, his US counterpart Wendy Sherman and US State Department political affairs advisor Victoria Nuland will hold a consultative meeting in Washington on September 15 within the framework of the strategic mechanism between the two countries.

It is expected that the two sides will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and regional and international issues, according to the statement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his American counterpart Joe Biden agreed to form the joint strategic mechanism during their meeting last October in the Italian capital, Rome, on the sidelines of the G20 summit.
