On Saturday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the departure of 5 new ships loaded with grain from the ports of Ukraine, in implementation of the Istanbul Agreement.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the mentioned ships left the ports of Ukraine in the morning hours, without further details about their destinations.
The statement added that 12 ships are also scheduled to be inspected on Saturday.
On July 22, Istanbul witnessed the signing of the “Document on the Initiative for the Safe Shipping of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian Ports” between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations.

The agreement included securing exports of grain stuck in the Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea (Eastern Europe) to the world to address the global food shortage crisis, which threatens a humanitarian catastrophe.
