Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired Thursday a meeting of the Supreme Consultative Council that lasted two hours at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara.

The meeting was attended by members of the Council, Ismail Kahraman, Koksal Tobtan, Muhammad Ali Shaheen, and the head of the Communications Department in the Presidency, Fakhruddin Altoun.
Among the participants are also the head of administrative affairs in the presidency, Metin Kiratli, the head of the intelligence service, Hakan Fidan, and the director of the presidential office, Hasan Dogan.
According to a statement published by Altun regarding the meeting, the council discussed the black propaganda campaigns against Turkey abroad, especially in Europe, and the measures that should be taken to confront it.

The statement indicated that the council members evaluated the activities of foreign associations and similar organizations in Turkey within the same context.
The members emphasized that the more Turkey made progress in the path of democracy and development and took independent steps, the higher the level of Europe’s hostility towards it increased.
They drew attention to the contradictory, unfair, unfair and hypocritical attitude adopted by Europe towards Turkey, from the accession process to the European Union to the fight against terrorism and the asylum seekers crisis.
In turn, Erdogan said that the political and social sensitivity towards Turkey in Europe has deep historical roots.

He stressed that Europe practices its ethnic and religious fanaticism, hiding behind concepts such as democracy, human rights and freedoms.
