Members of the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul headed to the “Razoni” ship loaded with corn, coming from the Ukrainian port of Odessa, to inspect it after it docked Tuesday evening in the Bosphorus Strait.

On Wednesday morning, the representatives of Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations left the headquarters of the Coordination Center in Istanbul on Wednesday morning towards the ship anchored in the “Rumlifanar” area of ​​the Bosphorus.

The members of the coordination center arrived at the ship by 10:40 (Turkish local time) to begin inspection work on the grain ship according to the principles agreed upon in the “Document on the Initiative for the Safe Shipping of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian Ports” between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations.

The grain ship is scheduled to continue its journey towards the Lebanese port of Tripoli, where its last destination is, after the inspection work is completed and the approval of the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul is obtained.

On Tuesday evening, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the arrival of the “Razoni” ship at the entrance to the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, after its departure on Monday morning from the Ukrainian port of Odessa.

On July 22, under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, a signing ceremony took place in Istanbul for the “Document on the Safe Shipping Initiative for Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian Ports” between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations.

The agreement guarantees securing exports of grain stuck in the Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea (Eastern Europe) to the world.
