The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Italian ambassador in Ankara, Giorgio Marabodi, after his country allowed the terrorist PKK organization to organize an event in the capital, Rome.

According to diplomatic sources, the Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its dismay at the Italian authorities allowing the terrorist “PKK” to organize events, the last of which was on June 4, when the organization’s slogans and pictures of terrorists were publicly raised at a demonstration in Rome.
The sources stated that the Turkish Foreign Ministry was disturbed by the Italian authorities’ allowing the organization’s propaganda to reach official channels and its appearance as a civil society organization and its activities under this description, in addition to granting honorary citizenship by Italian municipalities to leaders in the organization.

The Foreign Ministry asked the ambassador to prevent his country from engaging in such activities and for the Italian government to assume its responsibilities towards combating terrorism.
