Ankara’s mediation in the war between Russia and Ukraine and the start of negotiations between the two sides have positively affected the tourism sector in Turkey.
And the reservations that were canceled with the start of the Russian attack on Ukraine began again in hotels and tourist centers in the Cappadocia region.

Tourism specialists expect the Cappadocia region, where reservations are increasing, especially from South America, some Far Eastern countries and Europe, to enter an upward trend in the second half of this year.
In a statement, the vice president of the Federation of Tourist Hotel Operators in Cappadocia, Yakub Diinler, said that many foreign tourists had canceled their reservations with the start of the Russian attacks on Ukraine.
He added, “We experienced a short period of stagnation, but in recent days we have seen the start of bookings again, thanks to the mediation role that Turkey plays in resolving the current crisis between Moscow and Kyiv.”

He expressed his belief that the second half of this year will be a great renaissance for the tourism sector in Turkey.
He pointed out that the closing of many countries of the world to the Russians will have a positive impact on the tourism sector in Turkey.
He indicated that some Turkish banks’ dealings with the Russian card payment system “MIR” will also provide an advantage for Russian tourists to come to Turkey.
On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by angry international reactions and the imposition of “tough” economic and financial sanctions on Moscow.

To end the operation, Russia requires Ukraine to abandon any plans to join military entities, including NATO, and to adhere to complete neutrality, which Kyiv considers an “interference in its sovereignty.”
