This came in a statement issued by the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Army on the losses of the Russian forces since the start of the military operation on February 24 until March 19.

The statement indicated that the Ukrainian army managed to kill 14,400 Russian soldiers, shoot down 95 planes and 115 helicopters, as well as destroy 466 tanks and 1,470 armored vehicles.

The Ukrainian army also destroyed 44 air defense systems, 72 missile launchers, 914 vehicles, 60 fuel vehicles, 17 drones and 3 speed boats.

On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by angry international reactions and the imposition of “tough” economic and financial sanctions on Moscow.

To end the operation, Russia requires Ukraine to abandon any plans to join military entities, including NATO, and to adhere to complete neutrality, which Kyiv considers an “interference in its sovereignty.”
