Los Angeles education officials said that children 12 or older attending public schools should be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus early next year.

While fears persist in returning to school after the increase in children’s cases, Los Angeles education authorities have decided that the coronavirus vaccine should be mandatory for children over 12 years old.
Megan Riley, the temporary inspector for the Los Angeles Unified School District, stressed that the decision was not made lightly.
And they have been working on this problem for months, and that vaccines have proven effective and reduce hospitalizations.
Only about 26 percent of people ages 12 to 15 are vaccinated, according to the country’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
