Tebboune and Çavuşoğlu discuss cooperation to achieve stability

On Sunday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu discussed ways to double cooperation between the two countries to achieve stability in the region.

This came during a meeting between them in Algeria as part of an official visit to the Arab country, which Çavuşoğlu started on Saturday and ends on Sunday.

The Algerian presidency said in a statement that “the Foreign Minister of the sisterly Republic of Turkey, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, informed President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s condolences over the martyrdom of citizens due to the fires in the country.”

Tebboune also asked Cavusoglu “to convey his sincere condolences to his Turkish counterpart over the fires and floods that swept his country.”

The presidency stated that “the meeting dealt with the current regional and international issues and confirmed the convergence of views on many files.

Especially developments in Libya, Western Sahara, Tunisia, and the countries of the Sahel (African-West Continent).

This calls for doubling cooperation and unifying efforts to contribute to achieving stability in the region.

After the meeting, Çavuşoğlu told Algerian state television that he conveyed to President Taboun information “regarding the issues discussed.

And the matters that will be worked on in the future during the meeting that took place with my brother, the Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra.

He continued, “Today, we discussed regional and global issues, and we obtained directives from President Tebboune, and we also conveyed our views at the same time regarding them.”

He stressed that Turkey has “completely identical” views with Algeria regarding many matters, including “developments in Libya, the Sahel countries, Tunisia, and other international matters.”

He stressed the continuation of cooperation and solidarity with Algeria to provide stability and security in the entire region.
