Seven people were killed in the state of Egypt on Saturday, as a result of a “terrible” traffic accident in the north of the country.

According to the official Egyptian News Agency, the Security Directorate of Sharkia Governorate (Nile Delta / North) received a report.

The meaning of “a terrible accident happened when a heavy transport vehicle collided with a private passenger car on the middle road in the Sharkia governorate”.

The agency reported that “7 people were killed, including 5 from one family (a couple, two children, and a brother-in-law), in addition to the transport vehicle driver and his assistant”.

She explained that “the police and civil protection forces have moved to the site of the accident to extract the bodies from the private vehicle”.

As it was completely crushed with its occupants after the transport car collided with it and overturned its top, and all the bodies were transferred to Belbeis Central Hospital.

Traffic accidents are frequent in Egypt for several reasons, the most prominent of which is lax in implementing safety standards and reckless driving.

According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, these problems require government measures for years, by opening new roads and expanding highway axes to reduce accidents.
