5 sectors within the industry that broke the record in exports

Despite the ongoing geopolitical risks and concerns regarding global economic activity around the world, some sectors within the industry are breaking record export figures.

According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkey’s exports increased by 3.2 percent in the January-September period of this year compared to the same period last year, reaching $192.8 billion.

The country’s industrial exports increased by 2 percent during this period, reaching $135.6 billion, and record breaking was observed in some sub-sectors of industrial exports.

The share of the industrial sector in Turkey’s total exports during the nine months of the year reached 81.6 percent, as the industrial sector continues to play a leading role in Turkish exports.

While the automotive sector was the sector with the highest exports among the sub-branches of industry with $26.9 billion in 9 months of the year, it achieved the highest 9-month exports ever, with automotive industry exports reaching $27 billion.

Ships, yachts and services achieved the highest exports ever in the January-September period with $1.4 billion, the electrical and electronics sector with $12.2 billion, the jewelry sector with $5.4 billion, and the defense and aviation industry with $4.3 billion.

When we look at the markets to which the standard sectors in the industry group export, Germany stands out in the automotive industry, Norway in ships, yachts and services, the United Kingdom in electrical and electronic appliances, and the United Arab Emirates in jewelry.

Looking specifically at the provinces, Kocaeli came in the lead with $6.9 billion in the automotive industry, $788.9 million in ships, yachts and services, $6.1 billion in the electrical and electronics sector, and $3.7 billion in the jewelry industry.
