20 Palestinians wounded by Israeli army bullets in southern West Bank

Twenty Palestinians were wounded by Israeli army bullets on Friday during clashes that erupted after the funeral of a martyr in the southern occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews dealt with two injuries with live bullets and 18 with rubber-coated metal bullets.

In addition, 18 suffocated, and 3 burned, during clashes in the town of “Beit Ummar” north of Hebron (south).

On Friday, hundreds of Palestinians attended the funeral of the martyr Shawkat Khaled Awad (20 years), who was shot dead by the Israeli army on Thursday during clashes in the town of “Beit Ummar”.

It was said that the funeral procession of the martyr left from Al-Ahly Hospital in Hebron towards his hometown in the town of Beit Ummar, north of the city.

While the official Palestinian news agency “Wafa” reported that the occupation forces attacked the funeral procession of the martyr.

Metal-coated bullets, stun grenades, tear gas, and sewage was fired heavily at the mourners.

After the funeral, clashes erupted between dozens of Palestinians and the Israeli army, during which the latter used live and metal bullets, and tear gas canisters after the same source.
