20 irregular migrants rescued off the western coast of Turkey

On Thursday, the Turkish Coast Guard rescued 20 irregular migrants off the coast of Marmaris, in the state of Mugla (west), after they were forced back to Turkish waters by Greek forces in the Aegean Sea.

It was reported that the Turkish Coast Guard teams received a report about migrants inside a life raft off the coast of Marmaris, and immediately headed to the rafting site.

He added, quoting security sources, that the Turkish coast guard rescued 20 irregular migrants (without mentioning their nationalities) inside the life raft, who were forced by Greek forces to return to Turkish waters.

Rescue teams transferred the migrants to the Turkish mainland and handed them over to the Mugla Directorate of Immigration.
