17 million 809 thousand 78 people visited Turkey between January and May 2024, according to official statistics.
During the aforementioned period, two million 24 thousand and 865 Turkish citizens and 15 million 784 thousand and 213 foreigners visited the country, according to statistics published by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Tuesday.
The number of foreign visitors increased by 12.47 percent during the first five months of this year compared to the same period of the previous year.
The Germans topped the list of visitors to Turkey with 1,122,930 people, followed by the Russians with 1,78,294, and then the Iranians with 946,437.
