The administrative building of the presidency of the Islamic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was established with Turkish support, opened in the capital, Sarajevo, on Friday.

The opening ceremony of the building began with the recitation of the verses of the Noble Qur’an, in which the Bosnian President of the Presidential Council, Shafik Jafarovic, participated in it.
The President of the Islamic Union, Huseyin Kafazovic, and the Director of the Sarajevo Waqf, Sunaid Zajimović, among other officials.
On the Turkish side, Head of Religious Affairs Ali Erbash, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, and Director General of Endowments Burhan Ersoy participated.
In a speech during the ceremony, Sarajevo Endowments Director Snaid Zajimović indicated that the construction project for the building began in 2007, but was stopped for financial reasons in 2010.

He thanked the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the General Directorate of Turkish Endowments for their support to complete the construction of the building.
For his part, Director General of Endowments in Turkey, Burhan Ersoy, said that construction work started again in 2018 and ended in September 2021.
Erbash emphasized that the building serves as a symbol of a strong stance against misinformation and hate speech, especially against Islam in Europe.

Kafazowicz expressed his thanks to the people and government of Turkey for their support to complete the construction of the building.
