
UN Secretary-General’s spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, said on Wednesday that humanitarian aid to Gaza is facing difficulties flowing through border crossings despite the ceasefire.
Dujarric explained in a press statement that the United Nations encountered difficulties in the flow of humanitarian aid through border crossings on Tuesday due to Israel’s decision to reduce aid flows into Gaza.
He confirmed that the United Nations is intensifying its contacts with Israel to establish a system that allows more aid to flow through more border crossings.
Dujarric expressed his hope that a system will be established that allows more humanitarian aid to flow into the Gaza Strip.
American media reported that Israel sent a letter to the United Nations announcing that it would reduce the daily number of aid trucks, claiming that Hamas had not immediately returned the bodies of Israeli prisoners.
The first phase of an agreement between Hamas and Israel to cease the war in the Gaza Strip and exchange prisoners began on October 10.
The Israeli war of extermination, backed by the United States, lasted for two years, beginning on October 8, 2023.
