Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced Thursday the seizure of 3 tons and 533 kilograms of the narcotic methamphetamine in simultaneous security operations in Istanbul.

In a statement on Twitter, Soylu indicated that the aforementioned quantity is the largest amount seized in Turkey at one time.
He added, “After a 6-month follow-up, 3 tons and 533 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized in security operations in Istanbul between 16 and 23 November.”

And he added, “12 people have been imprisoned so far, while legal procedures are continuing against 10 others.”
