Turkey’s foreign trade using the euro has reached nearly $1 trillion in the past five years.
According to the data, Turkey’s total exports in euros amounted to $528.2 billion and its imports amounted to $434.1 billion from the beginning of 2020 to the end of 2024.
Turkey attaches special importance to trade in other currencies besides the Turkish lira.
The increase in its trade in other currencies, especially the dollar and the euro, has drawn attention over the years.
It is worth noting that the euro is used as the official currency of twenty of the 27 member states of the European Union.
