Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat said that the country’s exports on a monthly basis in August reached $22.1 billion, achieving the highest level in the history of the Republic.
This came at the August 2024 Foreign Trade Figures Meeting held at the Turkish Exporters Assembly on Monday.
Bolat explained that Turkey’s exports in August reached $22.1 billion, an increase of 2.4 percent compared to the same month in 2023.
He stated that the export figure in August was the highest in the history of the Republic for the mentioned month.
He pointed out that establishing sustainable foreign trade is the most important pillar of the country’s economic policy.

Minister Bolat stressed that the downward trend continues in terms of imports.
He stated that imports decreased by 10.8 percent in August to fall to $27 billion.
He stated that the foreign trade deficit decreased by 43.4 percent year-on-year to fall to $4.9 billion, the lowest level in the past 34 months.
He stated that in the first eight months of 2024, exports increased by 3.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year to reach $170.8 billion, providing a net increase of $6.3 billion in goods exports in the first eight months.
He indicated that in the same period, imports decreased by 8.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year to fall to $225.7 billion, and that there was a decrease of $21.4 billion in goods imports in the first eight months.
