Turkey: Temperatures Drop, Heavy Rains Ahead

Temperatures that were above seasonal averages in Turkey are set to drop to seasonal averages starting today, with temperatures dropping by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius nationwide.

Scattered rain is likely in some areas, as the Turkish Meteorological Authority has issued a yellow weather warning for 11 provinces.

However, temperatures will remain above seasonal averages until mid-week, and according to the Turkish Meteorological Authority, rain is expected along the eastern Black Sea coast.

Rain will also intensify today and Friday along the eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea coast, and the Marmara region.

Strong winds are expected, especially in Manisa, Izmir, Aydın, and Muğla. Elsewhere, skies will be clear and sunny. On Saturday, rain will mainly fall inland and coastal areas of the Black Sea.

On Sunday, only rain is expected in Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, and Rize. Heavy rain is expected in the provinces of Artvin, Bolu, Giresun, Kastamonu, Rize, Sakarya, Trabzon, Zonguldak, Bartin, Karabük, and Duzce.

Thunderstorms are expected in Istanbul today and Friday, with a high of 29°C. No rain is expected in Ankara and Izmir. The high temperature in Ankara will reach around 29°C, and in Izmir around 31°C.
