Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country ranks second after China in terms of the number of contracting companies and is among the top 8 countries in terms of construction sector revenues.
He added during a speech at an event for the Turkish Contractors Union in the capital Ankara on Wednesday that 43 Turkish companies are on the list of the top 250 contracting companies in the world.
He pointed out that 8 Turkish companies are included in the list of the top 225 technical consulting companies in the world.
President Erdogan stated in his speech that the construction sector is one of the sectors driving the Turkish economy.
He explained that the Turkish construction sector launched its international activities in 1972, and over the course of 52 years, Turkish companies have implemented 12,277 projects worth $515 billion in 137 countries.
