The consumer price index in the Turkish market rose last August by 1.46 percent on a monthly basis compared to the previous July.

According to data from the Turkish Statistics Authority released on Monday, inflation rose on an annual basis in August to 80.21 percent.
In August last year, the inflation rate reached 19.25 percent.
The consumer price index in Turkey measures the changes that occur in the general level of prices by tracking a basket that includes all consumed goods and services.

The authority said in a separate statement today that the producer price index during August rose by 2.41% on a monthly basis, while it rose to 143.75% on an annual basis.
