Turkey, Indonesia sign for cooperation in energy and mining

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced on Wednesday the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between his country and Indonesia in the field of energy and mining.

Bayraktar noted in a post on “X” that the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries was held under the chairmanship of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto.

He also explained that he signed a memorandum of cooperation with Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia in the field of energy and mining as part of the visit.

He stated that the memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all areas of energy and mining, especially oil, natural gas and renewable energy.

On Tuesday evening, Erdogan arrived in Indonesia from Malaysia as part of an Asian tour that also includes Pakistan. Erdogan was received at Halim Perdana Kusuma Military Airport, Subianto, Ankara’s Ambassador to Jakarta Talib Küçükcan and other officials.

The Turkish President is accompanied by his wife Emine Erdogan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, and Defense Minister Yaşar Güler.

In addition to the Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumaklı, and Trade Minister Ömer Bolat.​

He was also accompanied by the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yildirim, the Chief Advisor to the Turkish President for Foreign Policy and Security, Akif Cagatay Kılıç, the Head of the Communications Department, Fahrettin Altun, and a number of other officials.
