Turkey and Egypt signed 17 agreements on Wednesday in the presence of the two countries’ presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Erdogan and el-Sisi chaired the high-level meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council at the Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara, followed by the signing ceremony of the agreements.
The agreements included the following:
A memorandum of understanding on the development of the industrial zone in the New Administrative Capital, and a land allocation agreement on the development of the industrial zone in the New 6th of October City.
Memoranda of understanding in the field of competition policy and cooperation in the field of higher education, railways, civil aviation, information and communications technology, and scientific, economic and technical cooperation in the field of agriculture.
They also included memoranda of understanding on cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences, the field of support and development of small and medium enterprises, the field of tourism, culture, financial and economic issues, energy, the field of labor and employment, environmental protection and urban development, in addition to a memorandum between the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of State for Migration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs.
Presidents Erdogan and el-Sisi signed the joint declaration of the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Turkey and Egypt.
