Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said that his country achieved record revenues from the use of its airspace in 2024, amounting to 24 billion, 809 million, and 528 thousand liras (about 700 million dollars).
He pointed out in his speech that Turkey has always been a meeting point for continents, civilizations, and historical passages thanks to its geographical and cultural location, indicating that it is considered a natural bridge between Asia and Europe.
The Turkish minister also added that the number of active airports in the country reached 58 airports by the end of 2024, after their number was only 26 airports in 2002.
Uraloğlu explained that the number of countries with which Turkey concluded agreements in the field of air transport increased from 81 to 175 countries by the end of last year.

He pointed out that Turkey is currently witnessing the launch of international flights from its territory to 349 destinations in 132 countries, and by the end of 2024, the number of flights passing through Turkish airspace, including transit, will reach 2 million 290 thousand 581 flights, according to the minister.
Uraloğlu concluded by pointing out that they aim to raise the revenue figure to 35 billion 719 million 163 thousand liras (one dollar equals about 35 Turkish liras) by the end of this year, and to 43 billion 435 million 358 thousand liras in 2027.
