According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) announced that chemical sector exports in August increased by 2.6% compared to the same month last year.

Adil Bilister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chemical Industries and Business Association (İKMİB), whose comments were included in the statement, noted that Turkey’s total exports in August reached $21.8 billion.

He added: “Our chemical sector accounted for 12% of total exports last month, exporting chemicals and chemical products worth $2.6 billion.

Compared to August last year, our sector’s exports increased by 2.6%, reinforcing the continued growth in our exports in August.

Following the increase we witnessed in July, our outlook for the coming period is positive. Our exports from January to August approached $22 billion, and we continue to work tirelessly to achieve our year-end targets.

As the second-largest exporter, we are a sector that contributes significantly to the national economy.

It is essential that our government provide new incentives and support to maintain our competitiveness and achieve stronger export figures. We at the İKMİB will continue to support our sectors.”
