Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli announced on Sunday that the forest fires that broke out in the Yamanlar and Urla districts of Izmir province and the Goynuk district of Bolu province have been controlled.
Yumakli explained in a statement to reporters that firefighting teams are continuing their work to extinguish 8 fires in different parts of the country.
He added that the teams have so far been able to extinguish the fires in the provinces of Bolu (northwest) and Izmir (west of the country).
He pointed to the combined efforts of official bodies and local residents to extinguish the outbreak of fires, thanking in this context everyone who participated in extinguishing the fires.
It is noteworthy that Turkey extinguishes forest fires through many means, the most important of which are fire engines, planes and helicopters specialized for this task.
