The Turkish Coast Guard has rescued 5,153 irregular migrants in the Aegean Sea since the beginning of 2023.
The Coast Guard Command stated that its teams rescued 5,153 irregular migrants in the Aegean Sea from January 1 to March 31.
And it explained in a statement on Saturday that the migrants were forced by the Greek side to go to Turkish territorial waters in the Aegean Sea.
Turkish forces also seized 2,232 immigrants while they were trying to sneak out of the country illegally.
