Turkey.. 468,000 tons of earthquake debris removed in Marash

An official at the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said that 468,000 tons of rubble from buildings destroyed by the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş has been removed.

The concerned teams continue to remove rubble in the affected areas after the end of the search and rescue work following the double earthquake disaster on February 6.

The Director General of the General Directorate of Agricultural Establishments, Hassan Ghazginc, coordinates the work of the ministry’s teams involved in removing rubble in Kahramanmaraş.

Gazgenic pointed out that 468 thousand tons of rubble were removed in Kahramanmaraş.

He pointed out that the removal of rubble has been completed in 118 sites, while work continues to remove the rubble in 70 sites in Kahramanmaraş.

Gazgenic confirmed that all ministries are doing their responsibilities in the aftermath of the disaster.

On February 6, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing tens of thousands of people and leaving huge material damage.
