Turkey.. 1 in 3 electric cars sold is TOGG

TOGG ranked first in the brand rankings in the Turkish electric car market with 14,849 sales and a market share of 31.57 percent in the 8-month period of the year.

According to the Automotive and Mobility Distributors Association (ODMD) data, total car and light commercial vehicle sales in Turkey increased by 0.2 percent in the January-August period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 762,152.

Car sales increased by 3 percent to 605,639 in the mentioned period, while light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 9.5 percent to 156,513.

“All-electric” car sales increased by 94.7 percent.

In the January-August period, the number of “all-electric” car sales increased by 94.7 percent to 47,032. The share of all-electric vehicles in total sales increased from 4.1 percent to 7.8 percent compared to the same period last year, while the share of hybrid vehicles increased from 10.5 percent to 15.7 percent.

When considering “all-electric”, “extended-range electric” and “hybrid” vehicles, 24.1 percent of the total market is made up of vehicles with electric motors.

The T10X outperforms its closest competitor by 10,000 units.

According to ODMD data, TOGG maintained its leadership in the electric vehicle market in the first half of the year.

With sales of 14,849 units in the 8-month period of the year, TOGG outperformed its closest competitor by 10.04 units. During this period, TOGG’s share of the electric vehicle market was recorded at 31.57 percent, so one in every three electric vehicles sold carried the TOGG logo.

Best-selling electric brands

When we look at the electric car market by brand, in the period from January to August, after TOGG, BMW took first place with 4,845 units and Tesla with 4,552 units.

KG Mobility (SsangYong) took fourth place with 3,192 units and Mercedes-Benz took fifth place with 2,821 units.

When we look at it by model, the sales rankings in the mentioned period were TOGG T10X, Tesla Model Y, KG Mobility Torres, BMW X1 and BMW 5 Series.

On the other hand, when we look at August alone, in the all-electric car market of 5,661 units, Tesla took first place with 1,050 sales, Hyundai took second place with 602 sales and TOGG took third place with 601 sales.

Mercedes took fourth place with 468 sales, while Peugeot took fifth place with 423 sales.
