This came according to a statement by the Turkish Embassy in Tunis on Tuesday evening.

The statement said, “The meeting (Tuesday) of the Turkish ambassador to Tunisia with the head of government at the headquarters of the Governmental Palace in the Kasbah.”

He added that “during this meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the two brotherly and friendly countries at the bilateral and regional levels.”

On September 29, President Qais Said commissioned Boden to form the government, as the first woman in the country’s history to hold the position.

This follows his dismissal of Hisham Al-Meshishi’s government, as part of measures he took on July 25.

It also included freezing the parliament’s competencies, lifting the immunity of its deputies, and abolishing the constitutionality monitoring body.

The majority of political forces in Tunisia reject these decisions, and consider them a “coup against the constitution.”

On the other hand, other forces support it and see it as a “correction of the revolution’s path” that toppled the regime of President Ben Ali (1987-2011).
