Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the rubble under which more than 16,000 Palestinian children were killed and nearly 90,000 others injured are the rubble of an international system that has lost its legitimacy.
This came in a speech on Thursday during an expanded session of the 24th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Group countries in the Kazakh capital, Astana.
Erdogan pointed out that nearly 40,000 innocent people were killed in the random Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
He stressed the need to stop Israel and force it to accept a ceasefire in order to end this destruction, adding: “Therefore, pressure must be continued and increased on its government.”
He pointed out that there are principled countries that raise their voices for global justice with all sincerity and diligence without falling into pessimism in the face of all these crises facing the international system.
He pointed out that Turkey constantly draws attention to the weaknesses of the current international system.
He stressed that Turkey is working, despite all obstacles, to build an effective and comprehensive international system that achieves peace, security, stability and prosperity.
