The number of mobile subscribers in Turkey has exceeded the 84 million

Since the end of June, Turkey’s mobile subscriber penetration rate has exceeded 84.6 million, with nearly 78 million subscribers using 4.5G mobile services.

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has prepared the “Quarterly Market Data Report of the Turkish Electronic Communication Industry” for the second quarter of this year.

According to the report, as of the end of June, a total of 84,646,943 mobile phone subscribers have been reached in Turkey.

Including machine-to-machine (M2M) subscribers, which equates to penetration of approximately 101.2 percent.

Excluding machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and the 0-9-year-old population, the mobile penetration rate was 109.4 percent.

In the second quarter of the year, the number of third-generation subscribers decreased to 4 million, 212,944.

While the number of 4G subscribers increased 4.5 to 78 million 465 thousand 174, and in this period, the number of M2M subscribers increased to 7 million.

Also, as of the second quarter of this year, Turkcell acquired a 40.8 percent stake, Vodafone 31.6 percent, and TT Mobile 27.6%.

According to the number of subscribers, approximately 85 percent of the total mobile subscribers were individuals and 15 percent of the subscribers were businesses.
