
The head of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, met with Khalil Hay, head of the Hamas political bureau’s negotiating team, and his accompanying delegation in Istanbul.
According to security sources, the meeting discussed the Gaza peace plan, which has entered its second phase.
The two delegations also agreed to consult on increasing humanitarian aid, opening the Rafah border crossing in both directions, launching the work of the Gaza National Administration Authority, and other issues.
During the meeting, the Hamas delegation also expressed its gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for Turkey’s mediation efforts and its role in ensuring peace in Gaza thus far, and for Turkey’s increasingly prominent role in the second phase of the Gaza peace plan.
