Gaziantep Sports Club announced on Sunday its withdrawal from the Turkish Premier League for the 2022-2023 season, following the violent earthquake that struck the region last Monday.
The club attributed the reason for its withdrawal from the Republic Cup competitions, along with the league, to “its inability to think about football after a disaster of this magnitude occurred.”
In a statement published by the Turkish club’s website, in which he said: “We are continuing efforts to heal the wounds of the earthquake disaster that struck 10 neighboring cities, including our city (Gaziantep).”
