Russian tourists flock heavily to the Turkish state of Antalya (south), bringing the number of daily arrivals to about 20,000.

This is since the Russian authorities lifted the ban on flights with Turkey on June 22.

In a statement on Thursday, Zafer Alkaya, general manager of the Cornella Diamond Resort in Antalya, said that with the resumption of Russian flights to Turkey, about 20,000 Russian tourists a day began landing at the state airport.

Alkaya pointed out that Antalya is considered the “fortress of tourism” in Turkey and is most likely by Russian tourists for holidays after the Corona pandemic.

He stated that in January 2020, the state received about 250,000 Russian tourists, and in February of the same year, the number of Russian tourists reached 200,000.

Alkaya expressed his aspirations that the current tourist season’s performance would be better than last year’s.

And this is with the third stage of the gradual return to normal life after lifting the restrictions imposed in the context of combating the Coronavirus.

Russia had decided to restrict regular and chartered flights with Turkey from last April 15 to June 1 and then extended the decision until the 21st of the same month.
