On Monday, the Turkish Interior Ministry announced that a PKK terrorist had surrendered by persuasion.
The ministry stated in a statement that the persuasion efforts carried out by the police and gendarmerie command forces resulted in a terrorist surrender to the Turkish authorities.

The statement indicated that the aforementioned terrorist joined the ranks of the organization in 2009, and participated in its activities in Syria and Iraq.
She pointed out that the number of terrorists who surrendered to the Turkish authorities by persuasion rose to 157 since the beginning of this year.
