Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said that the issuance of arrest warrants by the International Criminal Court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant is a “turning point in the history of humanity.”
This came in a speech during an event in Istanbul on Saturday, where he pointed out that the governments of some countries, especially in the West, have remained silent regarding the ongoing Israeli crimes against humanity for more than a year in Gaza.
He explained that one of the most fundamental problems facing humanity is the failure to achieve peace, and that the door to peace is justice, and there can be no peace without providing justice.
Kurtulmuş welcomed the recent decision of the International Criminal Court regarding the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
He also expressed his gratitude for the declaration of a large number of countries’ commitment to implementing the Rome Statute, including Western countries in which the Zionist lobby has strong influence.

He added: “The decision of the International Criminal Court is a turning point in the history of humanity, and we hope that Netanyahu and his gang will be arrested as soon as possible, wherever they go, and that they will be held accountable before the court.”
On Thursday, the court issued two international arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the ongoing genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
On May 20, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, requested the issuance of two arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant for their responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli army in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
Khan also requested again last August that the court quickly issue arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 148,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and elderly people in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
