Istanbul Airport continues its leadership in Europe

Istanbul International Airport continued to top the list of Europe’s busiest airports during the period between July 15 and 21, with an average of 1,485 flights per day.

This was stated in a statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Transport on Thursday, based on a report by the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation.

Thus, Istanbul Airport ranked first among the busiest European airports between July 15 and 21.

The statement explained that Istanbul Airport surpassed Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, which are considered among the busiest airports in Europe.

He pointed out that Antalya International Airport ranked eighth among the busiest airports in Europe, with an average of 1,036 flights per day.

He added: “During this period, Turkish airspace became one of the most efficient airspaces in Europe, with a delay time of less than 0.5 minutes per flight.”
