The application process for the Turkish university entrance exam “YÖS” will begin tomorrow, Friday.

The Presidency of the Evaluation, Selection and Classification Center (Examination Authority) stated in a statement on Thursday that applications for the “YÖS” exam this year will continue until September 2, 2024.

The statement quoted the head of the center, Bayram Ali Ersoy, as saying that foreign students wishing to study at higher education institutions in Turkey will be able to take the exam on October 27 and enter those institutions based on its results.

Ersoy confirmed that the exam will be valid for two years from its date, indicating that government universities will not request another exam for applicants via “YÖS”.

He pointed out that the exam will be held in 87 centers in 60 countries, stressing that Turkish government universities will take the “YÖS” exam issued by the center as a basis for approving the registration of foreign students in them.

He said: “According to the decision of the Higher Education Council, state universities will not hold exams within their own structure, and thus we have removed a burden from our universities, as applicants had to take an exam for each university separately, but now they can apply to the universities with a single test result (YÖS).”

Ersoy pointed out that students who missed the registration for the exam can apply between September 10 and 12.
