Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made statements regarding the meeting in Istanbul via his social media account.

He said, “We hosted the second round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. In the talks, which took place in a constructive atmosphere, the two sides consolidated the issues they agreed upon in the first meeting.

They also reached an agreement on the name of the humanitarian exchange, new categories, and a greater number of exchanges.”

Minister Fidan stated in his post, “The two sides exchanged memoranda reflecting their views on the ceasefire and peace, and deemed it appropriate to begin technical work on these texts in the coming days.

During the meeting, they also agreed to continue field preparations for a leaders’ meeting. The results-oriented approach demonstrated by the two sides in the negotiations, which were formed in line with the shared will of our leaders to end the losses caused by the war, is satisfactory.

I would like to thank both countries once again for the trust they have placed in Türkiye during this historic process.”
