Fidan holds intensive meetings at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a series of intensive meetings with several of his counterparts on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which Turkey held from April 11 to 13.

During the forum, Fidan met with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov. According to sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Fidan and Lavrov discussed Turkish-Russian relations and exchanged views on energy cooperation.

The two sides also discussed maritime security in the Black Sea and efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Among the discussions, Fidan and Lavrov discussed emerging issues related to the Syrian conflict and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

Among the forum’s meetings, Fidan met with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, to discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments. In another meeting, Fidan met with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ceyhun Bayramov.

The fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum was attended by more than 6,000 people from 155 countries, including 21 heads of state and government and 64 ministers, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during a press conference held Sunday at the forum’s conclusion.

The fourth edition of the forum, held under the theme “Upholding Diplomacy in a Divided World,” was held under the patronage of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a convention center in the Belek district of Antalya province, southern Turkey.
